CFO-MANUFACTURING

The Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished, strategic, and hands-on Chief Financial Officer to join the executive leadership team of a privately held, mid-sized third-party logistics (3PL) and contract manufacturing company. The CFO will serve as a trusted partner to the CEO, COO, Chief Commercial Officer, and Head of People, playing a central role in shaping financial strategy, driving profitable growth, and ensuring disciplined financial management across multi-site U.S. and international operations.

This role is ideal for a CFO or senior finance leader who thrives in a growth-oriented, operationally complex environment and is energized by making a direct impact on strategy, capital allocation, and performance within manufacturing and fulfillment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development and execution of the company's financial strategy, annual operating plan, and multi-year forecasts, ensuring close alignment with operational and commercial objectives.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance organization spanning accounting, FP&A, treasury, and tax, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strong business partnership.
  • Oversee monthly close and consolidation processes across U.S. and international entities, delivering timely, accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital, optimizing inventory, receivables, payables, and customer credit terms within complex, customer-specific deal structures.
  • Serve as the primary executive liaison for banking relationships, including negotiation and management of credit facilities, covenant compliance, and treasury services.
  • Partner closely with operations and supply chain leadership to improve plant and distribution center performance, cost structure, and inventory turns, leveraging ERP, WMS, and related systems.
  • Support commercial teams on pricing, contract review, and profitability analysis by customer, vertical, and program to ensure sustainable margins on sophisticated, long-term engagements.
  • Lead the financial evaluation of capital investments-including equipment, automation, facilities, and systems-through rigorous business cases and ROI/NPV analysis.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including landlords, suppliers, customers, service providers, auditors, insurers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure strong internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with GAAP and applicable U.S. and international regulatory and tax requirements.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including prior roles as CFO, VP of Finance, or divisional finance leader.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or supply-chain-intensive businesses, with hands-on exposure to multi-site and international operations.
  • Proven success managing institutional banking relationships and debt facilities.
  • Deep expertise in GAAP, cost accounting, financial modeling, and mid-market ERP/WMS and financial systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across executive, operational, and commercial teams.
  • Comfort operating at both strategic and tactical levels in a growing, privately held company.
  • A sense of humor and a genuine passion for your craft.

Location and Travel

  • Primary base in Fremont, California, with regular on-site presence.
  • Occasional travel to operating facilities and key banking, customer, and partner locations.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary, with an expected range of $300,000-$360,000 USD for California-based candidates, commensurate with experience and location.
  • Annual performance-based bonus.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) with company match, vacation, and paid time off.
